Cooper Barrett & Maxie Jones met under strangest of circumstances , Cooper was one of the bad guys taking the Metro Court Hostage while he ended up locked in a Vault with Maxie Jones. They bonded during their time together and got to know one another.

After the hostage situation was over Cooper ended up needing Maxie's help to hide out from the Police, she helped him and he then got a job at the Metro Court as a Security Guard and decided to stay in Port Charles.
